PA leadership hêppie met die local election results

Die Patriotic Alliance (PA) leier Gayton McKenzie het Woensdag gesê hy kan nie sy opgewondenheid keer nie, aangesien die groen party groot inroads in die Stad Johannesburg gemaak het en amper hul setels verdubbel het in vergelyking met vorige verkiesings.

“We are very very excited. We are not surprised but just excited because we have worked so hard. We were expecting what you see now. We are not shocked about this. We knew we are going to be king makers,” het McKenzie gesê by die nasionale resultate-operasiesentrum (ROC) in Pretoria.

Nasionaal is die party tans 8ste met 1% van die stêm of 48setels.

McKenzie het gesê, in die Wes-Kaap was die party deel van hangenderade en dat hulle nou kyk om hul voetspoor in die Stad Johannesburg en Ekurhuleni-metro te vergroot.

McKenzie en die PA se adjunkpresident Kenny Kunene kon intussen gesien word besig om samesprekings te voer met verskillende politieke partye op die vloer by the ROC en het later gesê dat hulle bereid is om in hierdie stadium saam met enigiemand innie kooi te spring.

“For us, we have no preference ... whether it's the DA, EFF, or whatever. We are willing to go with anyone that gives our people what we think they deserve, particularly coloured people, because they have been neglected.”
